Writing fan fiction is our hobby... writing well is our passion. Here you will be faced with challenges to stretch your imagination, break up writer's block, or just have fun. Since the premise of this site is to issue Challenges (story ideas), the posting of stories incorporates more structure than some storyboards, lists, or archives. 

Please take time to read the guidelines.

The Guidelines 

The Fan Fiction Challenge Livejournal commumnity and archives are for Challenge stories only. Of course, anyone may post his or her Challenge stories on any of the other fine fanfic storyboards, lists, or archives, but only Challenges will be posted on the community. Non-Challenge stories will be taken down. 

There is no time limit after any Challenge to post. Please, check out Previous Challenge -- something might spark a story. 
New Challenges are posted Fridays at the La Femme Nikita Fan Fiction Message Board and the The Fan Fiction Challenge Livejournal Community. Challenges in specific fandoms other than La Femme Nikia will also be posted periodically at the Livejournal community.

The Archives 

Stories written in response to a challenge may be archived here at The Fan Fiction Challenge. Of course, all stories are the property of their authors who may post or archive said stories at any of the fine fanfic archives they so desire. Consider, however, that only Challenge Stories are archived here, and any exclusive material makes this small corner of the web that much more fun to visit.

The Challenges

Challenge:  There are no limits on length, but the classic Challenge is usually a short story. A Challenge is not just about cannon; it can include elements as diverse as bathtubs or cheezy poofs. Nothing is sacred here, but whether it is sweet or sad, serious or funny, the idea is to take the Challenge and run with it. Unless specified, there are no time limits on posting, so early or late, share when the muse strikes. 

Previous Challenges:  Challenges have no 'due date'. If no Challenge on the Challenge Board is to your liking, please investigate our list of Previous Challenges. Perhaps one will inspire a new story. 

Civility

The internet is a wonderful place, but it is not without pitfalls. Basic civilized behavior is expected here. Constructive feedback and kudos are encouraged, but personal attacks will be heavily frowned upon, and knuckles may be rapped. 

Readers often prefer appropriate warnings and ratings along with a sneak-peak. Here is a suggestion on how to summarize your work:


 Ratings: Loosely based on current US movie ratings, label your story with ratings from PG to NC-17.

 Fandom: Indicate which show or movie or book, etc., is the basis of the story.  All stories featuring fictional characters are welcome.

 Please label spoilers by episode title.

 Please indicate if the story is slash.  If you don't know what slash is, click here.


Plagiarism will be deleted. 

 

Housekeeping
Although the authors use characters, settings, and situations from various television shows,
 no copyright infringement is intended. No money is sought after or made from the writing of any fan fiction.

Everyone here is only after a good time.
